Company History

General Maintenance Corporation was established in 1976, by Anastasios (Tommy) Pantiledes when he decided to branch out from his job working for Hudson Maintenance Bridge Painting Company in New York and start his own bridge painting business with his two sons in New Orleans, LA. He and his family built General Maintenance Corporation into a strong painting and sandblasting company.

About 20 years later, when Tommy became too sick to continue running General Maintenance Corporation on his own, he entrusted one of his long-time employees and right-hand man, James (Jim) Price, to carry on his legacy. When Jim took over, he decided to move away from high elevation painting and sandblasting. Through a job painting the Exxon Plant in Chalmette, he found his way into the oil and gas industry. From there, Jim was eventually able to move from the bonded work industry into the private work industry where General Maintenance Corporation became the only leading construction company in Louisiana to specialize in gas station re-imaging.

After developing close working relationships with many of Louisiana’s top oil companies, Jim garnered a reputation for General Maintenance Corporation of being very reliable and performing quality work in a timely manner.

After about 40 years with the company, Jim has been able to retire while his daughter, Samantha Guciardo, alongside her husband, Anthony Guciardo, continue to operate General Maintenance Corporation at the same high standards.
